Tree Board
The Grundy Center Tree Board was established by city ordinance in 1990 by the Grundy Center City Council. The Board consists of five members. One member represents the Public works Department and one member the Municipal Utilities. The other tree members are appointed from the community by the Mayor with approval of the City Council. Members serve without compensation on the Board for a three-year term. It is the responsibility of the Tree Board to administer a plan for the preservation, care, pruning, planting and removal of all "street trees." "Street trees" are defined as trees, bushes and other woody vegetation on land owned by the City and lying between property lines on either side of all streets, avenues and ways within the city. The Tree Board meets the 4th Tuesday of each month, except December, at 7 AM at City Hall. All meetings are open to the public. Tree Board Members
